What was  that missing  part fuse, resistor, capacitor? The little one marked on second photo is also bad. Could someone check their and share with me? Its oposite mini usb slot. Wanna try to change and see if its going to be working. It's not seen by pc anymore but when it is powered by 12V it blinks normally. Could someone help with troubleshooting? USB module might be fried i guess. This one is bad bluetooth version so can't check that way with my odis.

Ferritte bead is the missing component. Size SMD 805 in inches. Try to make jumper there. The component clears interferences and is smoothing  the voltage peaks after it.

Hi!

During rework, I lost the component you can see in blue circle. Could someone tell the part number of this?

Best Regards.

PS. The reworked VAS5054A seems to be working fine without it also...!

Im interested too.

Me too, it seems some have a lot in stock ! biggrin

i made a request to Component Sense, we'll see if it's possible at not crazy price.

The price is usually from 25 to 40€ but be aware that this is only "virigin" BT module without VAS pcb.

You need correct pcb and program the module to get it working.

If one can find a softing AG amb2300 lower pcb board then buying and testing the amb2300 module would make sense. Otherwise forget it.

TJA1054A is Low Speed (can be replaced with newer TJA1055)

Thanks for the idea about TJA1055 being compatible.I removed fake TJA1054,OKI from my Vas head.AU5780A was already missing from it smile

I did some bench-marking today.
I have 2 vas heads now.
A) with 3.3v,70ns RAM,Non AMB module under a amb2300 shield with genuine looking ceramic antenna.
B)now with ISSIS 5v 10ns RAM with genuine AMB2300 module.
My findings:
With USB connection:B is ~4 secs faster than A in displaying control module list using odis -S 4.2.2 from the moment i click start diagnosis.

With bluetooth connection: A is ~14 secs faster than B.For some reason third party bluetooth is faster than the genuine amb2300.Third party module has a better signal strength too.dontknow.With A i can easily connect my car(parked in my garage) from my living room but with B(genuine amb2300,i could not.

Also don't know what they did,A can take PDU updates and downgrades like a genuine one with no problem despite being non AMB.It even works with newer ODIS-E 7.2.Only draw back is i can't change buzzer and power down settings with it.But signal and speed wise, its better than genuine AMB.

I Don't know if the problem come from this point, but i read the 25 pages of this thread and one Point never adressed about the Infineon chip, 2 models exist (correct me if i'm wrong) :

32F40F (Some HQ clone) :

On-Chip Memory Modules – 2 Kbytes On-Chip Dual-Port RAM (DPRAM) – 4 Kbytes On-Chip Data SRAM (DSRAM)
 – 6 Kbytes On-Chip Program/Data SRAM (PSRAM) – 256 Kbytes On-Chip Program Memory (Flash Memory)

16F40F (original 5054a) :

On-Chip Memory Modules – 2 Kbytes On-Chip Dual-Port RAM (DPRAM) – 4 Kbytes On-Chip Data SRAM (DSRAM)
– 2 Kbytes On-Chip Program/Data SRAM (PSRAM) – 128 Kbytes On-Chip Program Memory (Flash Memory)

Actually a 3rd model was found to exist which should be rejected. One of my clones has better specs than original. My original vas5054a is 16F40F.
32F40F better than specs
16F40F original
16F20F bad return or sell for parts.
