BMW Fxx PDC retrofit/programming - ivannw - 25-12-2016

Hi guys, I'm doing a PDC retrofit on my f20 and after plug cables I saw faults on ISTA. The sensors status are Programming.

Is there a way to program them and/or initialize.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Look under service function

RE: BMW Fxx PDC retrofit/programming - ivannw - 25-12-2016

I appreciate your Help SweetBMW. I could not find the option related to PDC. I fixed the rear windows initialization. I have only one sensor with this error:

Fault description The ultrasound sensor has a fault in the sensor programming.

The fault code entry happens if the ultrasonic sensor was not programmed correctly at the supplier's place.

Condition for fault identification Supply voltage: 9 V to 16 V

Terminal 15 on

Condition for fault memory entry Fault entry after 4,5 seconds.

Action in service Replace the appropriate ultrasonic sensor.

Fault effect and breakdown warning Malfunction of the parking assistance systems.

Driver information Check Control message (195): Parking assistance failed!

Check Control message (490): Parking manoeuvering assistant failed!

Service instruction

Please, do you have any other suggestion?

Check the voltage which is going to that sensor. If the correct voltage is supplied replace the ultrasonic sensor.

Actually i bought 10 sensors from China. Only 3 of 10 are working. I was trying to reset them but I couldn't find anything.

I will buy the original one.

I saw some options at fdl options at REM, maybe there are parameters to change how errors are fired but it's not a option.

Thanks for help.

German car with Chinese parts nerd awesome combination. (good that 3 are working)

The reason to test with Chinese is the price of parts in Brazil. My last quote of sensors here was 500 EUR each.

Dear ivannw,
I still wonder whether you have fixed your problems? However, in my knowledge, you have to change FA to let the whole system know that you have that option?

Thanks for answering, David.

I tried everything. Added 507 to FA and coded icm, rem, fem and I fdl coded the nbt.

It's clear on ISTA/D that one sensor couldn't be programmed. I changed the position and ISTA detects the same error on the new position.

I saw a video on YouTube that a guy reset PDCs with a maxidiag from autel. Maybe it's possible.

I'm thinking to buy a used sensor here in Brazil to test if it will work.

A new pdc here in Brazil costs R$ 1.7K ~ USD 520. Very overpriced.
