LM2 e61 coding help - dimitrev - 29-12-2016
Hey guys,
I'm on the brink of tearing my hair out, so reaching out here for some help. I have an E61 '05 model, with an LM2 installed and i've been having fun with coding a bunch of things on it like DRLs and Welcome lights etc, but I'm struggling to do one particular thing, and I can't seem to find any good info out there for it:
I'm trying to get DRLs to be the Angel Eyes together with the "eyebrows" strip and the 4 little orange LEDs when in Auto mode. I've read in some places people saying it is not possible without wiring changes (on pre-LCI models) but surly it must be possible with coding as I get the exact configuration of lights i'd like to have but only when the switch is set to "parking lights" mode (position 1). Only problem with that is that I lose my automatic lights, and I want to keep them (also in parking lights mode, it will not turn off the lights when the car is shut off and key is removed).
Currently, in Auto mode, i have managed to get as far as having the angel eyes on (and nothing else), or having the sidemarkers also permanently on (indicators) but without the eyebrows.
Wondering if I maybe need to look at coding something in the light switch module itself instead off the LM2?

Thanks Levanime, I have already done this and this where I am at the moment, with only the angel eyes themselves coming on in Automatic mode. Maybe I need to update my I-level... :/

100%, most LM2 only functions I have working (like Welcome Lights etc) and by part number it is the latest LM2 version manufactured in 2010.
the only issue with it is that it seems to be a non-AHL module, so my adaptive xenons don't work at the moment and my AHL module reports in as dead (which is normal for this configuration, it does not talk to LM2) - i will swap out this LM2 with an AHL one at some point but I have more important things to put money into first.
i've now heard from several people claiming what I want is not possible without wiring modifications, but my friend's LCI works like this, although we don't know if it has been modded or not. I grabbed his LM trace file yesterday and am busy looking at the differences. I will try to flash with as many of his values as makes sense and see what happens.
