K+DCAN and Ediabas help please - BMWScoops55 - 22-01-2017
Have been running K+DCAN cable and Ediabas 6.4.3 with standalone ISTA for some time no problem.
Now I want to use ENET cable since IM getting more F Cars but 6.4.3 does not do ENET ?
Installed patched EDIABAS 7.3.0 but keep getting "vehicle could not be identified" in ISTA vehicle test with K +DCAN and ENET does not show up on ISTA
Changing 7.3.0 folder to another name and changing 6.4.3 folder back to EDIABAS makes it all work again on K + DCAN
Any help ?

"Connection manager" screen pops up and its blank.
No cable to select
None of the VCI options work with the ENET
The cable works fine with ESYS so it is working

Yes, Enet cable plugged in, Ignition on, 25amp charger on car
Network IPV4 set to "obtain IP automatically"
Card set to 196.254.1.1 yields same result
Tried 2 Exx cars and 2 Fxx cars - same result
ESYS works 100%
ISTA on Edbabas 6.43 works with K+DCAN, enet gives same blank result
Also
Windows 7
Anti VIrus + Firewall disabled

Sorry, im an Idiot
Had Rheingold open before plugging ENET cable into car.
Closing Rheingold then plugging ENET in then restarting Rheingold brings up the ENET cable
Ediabas 6.43 then give "Configuration error)
But 7.3.0 set to ENEt works
Atleast on an F car, will try E soon
Still dont know why the k+DCAN wont work with 7.3.0

You can use E-NET only from F-series up.

Still trying to get k+DCAN wont work with 7.3.0

Check the com port in 6.4.3 For your k-dcan in Obd.ini
Usually is set on com 1
Set it in 7.3.0 ( Usually its set on com 9) as Well
Or set your k-dcan com port on 9 in Device Manager

The patched EDIABAS is best to use ONLY with ISTA-P Loader/ICOM emulator.
I have not had success using it with the other regular apps.
Install the unpatched ediabas from BMW Standard Tools 2.12, and it will work.
(*or just replace patched ediabas\bin\ files with unpatched files found in Rheingold folders)

Had everything set to Com 1 and it wasnt working
Changed everything to Com 9 and all is well.
