TPMS error - Civic 2012 - pshoey - 23-01-2017

I'm new to honda but my son's GF has a 2012 Civic that she swapped out to winter wheels / tyres. Of course the TPMS warnings are tripped. I have have a HDS cable I got some years ago, so I thought I'd install HDS and help here out.

I got HDS installed (v3.101.019) and talking to the cable. I am able to connect to the car, read the VIN and odometer, which is positive right?

Next I select the TPMS ecu and found the learn sensor ids but it won't let me perform that because there are (duh) codes (32, 34, 36, 38) indicating that the TPMS sensors are no longer found (the original ones on her summer tires).

I tried to clear the DTCs, but HDS responds that the clear failed. Now I'm stuck. Can't clear the codes, so I can't learn the new ones.

Is my cable not functioning correctly? Or is there a proper sequence that I should be following?

Any help or pointers would be wonderful.

TIA

Had the same issue , HDS and JBox J2534 had to use Maxidas Ds to clear codes

My xhorse works fine with tpms. I even did tpms adjustment to 18" rim. Try with a cheap generic obd2 to read and clear dtcs, just for comparison.

Just realized this thread was revived from the grave. I hope OP has fixed this by now!

I forget the exact name of the button, but after you select VIN/mileage/RO # there is an option to scan all ECUs for DTCs. It takes a little bit to complete, but there is an option to erase all DTC found afterwards. That may work. I usually use my Autel Maxisys for stuff like this, it's just faster.
