Icom a1 stops working! No Led but fan run! - Hitchhiker - 08-03-2017
Hi! I bought 2years ago a icom a1 clone from china... works perfect .but today i connect to my car and the head flash short red leds..then nothing... not found on ethernet.. fan running but no led shows in green or another color!
Any idea? Whas that?! Please help!

Ok... but has someone the same problems?
I connect it to the car... when i plug in .. red leds short flashes... onetime! The fan runs.. but nothing works!
I think its dead... or burned..?!

Never had A1 myself, but I remember some threads on this forum telling that thermal contact between CPU and heat sink within A1 Chinese clones getting loose or having no heat sink at all leading to CPU overheat and having almost identical symptoms. Fixing heat sink seems to help for most guys. Just open it and have a look or search for threads about that. I think some even had pictures posted.

Fingers crossed thermal protection protected it before going totally toast. Just open the case and see if heat sink is not loose.

The pads are on and the aluminium block ist screwed down..
Have you pictures of the area where i must look?

I think I saw pictures somewhere on this forum, but can't find them in a hurry. If heat sink is ok, then you can try restore method proposed by others.
