HDS Release Password [SOLVED] - Phuong - 18-03-2017

UPDATE

The Solution

I updated to the most recent version of HDS (version 3.101.044 provided by jakerockon) and was able to obtain a working release password and ECM/PCM code from the dealer.

If it matters any, I installed the HDS using the setup.exe I found in the HDS 3.101.044 folder. I chose USA for region and let the installer do its thing. I didn't add the registry keys at the end (since that seemed to mess with the program) and so far, so good.

Many thanks to those that contributed.

Hi there,

I just installed HDS 3.017.012 (SPX-MVCI version) on a freshly restored to factory settings laptop (Win 7-64bit) and I ran into a problem when trying to replace the ECM.

The vehicle was involved in an accident and I need to replace the ECM but HDS says the function is locked.

Can someone help me with the release password? Thanks in advance.

Vehicle info:
2015 Acura MDX (US model)
Last 8 of the VIN: FB008821

Edit: I installed the HDS using the setup.exe from HDS_3.017.012 folder. The settings are set as follows:

Thanks so much for the quick reply.

Before I try the password, could you tell me if I installed the HDS correctly?
I ask this because whenever I follow the installation videos where it tells me to choose the registry keys at the end, I run into a problem. When HDS tries to connect to the vehicle, I get the "HDS cannot find the CM Update calibration files on the PC. Please reinstall the CM Update on the PC."
So earlier today, after factory resetting my laptop and doing a fresh install of HDS 3.017.012, I did NOT add the registry keys and HDS seems to be working fine--minus the lock out.

Edit: are those passwords for attempt 14? I didn't try anything after taking the screenshot of #14.

Release password should not relate to VIN and date, try these...
Attmp #14: 3A640
Attmp #15: CCBC1

I'm not expert on Honda but I think you can easily find the CM problem and answers on the forum.

Thanks, Zmann!

I've been told they are. I'm not sure how they're calculated but a lot of sources ask for VIN and to make sure I set the date correctly.

As for the CM problem... I searched for days. At best, I've gathered that a folder in C: needs to be created and files moved to that folder. But those files can't be found anywhere. Like I mentioned earlier, I gave up and factory reset my laptop to clear up any residual files that weren't uninstalled or reverted to their non-HDS version (i.e. registry keys).

Try it #14...if worked and if you stuck again later I am able to supply for more than #100

When I reopened it, it said attempt #15. So I tried the #15 you gave me and it didn't work.
Do my program settings affect the passwords?

RE: HDS Release Password - zmann - 20-03-2017

I used them on HIM but should be no different. As you said, hope you set PC year correctly (2017). Would any chance you try with older sw version, ex. HDS 3.012 ?

in case you would use the next codes from me, #16 = 5E040, #17 = F62EB

RE: HDS Release Password - Phuong - 20-03-2017

I did not play around with the date on the computer. So it is set to 2017. I can try an older version however I'm trying to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling HDS over and over... in case something glitches out and I have to factory reset the laptop again.
For the record, I am using this:
