E85 problems CVM - Bimmer540 - 28-03-2017
E85 2003 convertible roof does not work at all.
In Ista CVM is red. I checkt power, ground and K-Bus, and that's okay.
What could cause this problem?

K-bus is 100%??? how did you test? voltage on k-bus needs to be around 12v when engine is running. are there any other ecu's red?

check the engine for water damage left rear

No other ecu's are red. k-bus 6v without engine running.

But if the engine has water damage is the VCM then red in Ista?

Try to get a fresh k-bus signal (like from combi) and see if it is the same as on the cvm.
Looks like there is a problem there.

How can a bus signal differ? The signal will be the same for each control unit.

it should be only when the signal is shorted or has a resistance it will be different.
