2009 Ford Transit 2.4D speed limiter - romman - 03-05-2017
Hi my mate has this model of van but its limited to 72mph he tells me.
So i was wondering if anyone knows if delphi or launch xpro3 can remove this. /i have been already advised from a clever chap from here already launch probs wont do this and i feel that is a correct assumption too but thought i would ask all...
I also have a vas 5054a (clone) not the best either i dont think so unsure if a passthrough would replicate ford vcm if needs be.
Be good to know if a remap is required or if the above hardwares cant do it as my mate wont want to invest in dealer level ford stuff.

Hi mate launch x431 does have a speed limit section but it didnt work for me on a 2011 transit, i could only move the speed limiter from 56 to 75kph. only ford ids would do it in the end, because I had to download a new file in order to reprogram the bcm, which then gave the option to toggle the limiter between 56 75 and off (an option that was not there before)
you will need both keys present because you will have to reset pats afterwards.

Have you checked with FoCom I am sure it can remove the speed limiter as I have done on 2008 not sure for 2009 worth having a try it.......

Thanks for your reply and input buddy its appreciated,,,i dont quite know what FoCom is but i assume its more tools required which aint gonna happen.
I might have a bash at my vas 5054a and look at passthrough drivers for ford and see what happens....otherwise i will have to have the van remapped at a cost which i know is worth it anyway...
