STRUT MOUNT INSTALLATION BMW E90 - sebastianfernandes - 15-06-2017

Hi All,
Hope someone with experience can help me with the problem i having on my BMW E90 LCI. Ive replaced the front Shock with Bilstein b4's but when I've assembled everything there seem to be shimmy at the top strut mounts on both sides. Ive torqued the top strut mount nut but the problem persists. I have doubt about the orientation of the washers. The dome washer has to be facing up or down? There is another washer thats goes on the bearing for dust protection. I don't understand why is there a wiggle when i try to shake the strut mount left to right and forward to back? Should i try replacing the strut mount. By visual examination the strut mount look ok. Can someone help?? Ive attached the pics.
Edit: the pics are not from my actual car but I've found them off the net.

Ive attached a link to the video with similar issue but mine is far more worse..

Did you solve the problem? The dome part of the washer faces up and the dust protection washer cups the top strut bearing as shown by both pictures. First picture (left) is correct. Bilstein B4 are universal so you will need to rotate the shock 'left' or 'right' to the corresponding side. Obviously, the label would be visible in the gap where you tighten the shock to the hub (swivel bearing).

Providing that you pushed the hub (swivel bearing) as far up as possible when tightening the shock, the problem may be that the springs are incorrectly seated especially at the bottom pad. The top strut bearing should rotate freely.

Lower part of spring is smaller

Replace spring pad (1).Important!

Make sure spring pad (1) is correctly seated on shock absorber. Guide (2) must be correctly seated in opening (3) in shock absorber!
