Hello. I am interested in bmw x6 2013, 50i. It has 4.4 n63 engine, with black engine cover. Is it 450hp or 407hp. (I know that n63 with white engine cover is 407hp) n63 engine with black cover is in new x6 too above 2015. Because of that I think that 2013 x6 has 450hp too.
How problematic cars are they? What is the difference between n63 with white cover and n63 with black cover.
Does anybody have e71 from 0 miles on this engine? What problems did you have from 0 miles to 50000

From 0 to 50000 miles you will have no problems. After about 80000 miles there is a problem with the injectors in both engines.

So tehy are reliable engines?
Most n47, n46, n54 n52 has many problems under 50000 miles..
n47 and n46 timing chain problem. n46 valvetronic motor problem.
n54 n52 injectors. water pump..

Everything has limited life but you said that its life is 80000 miles. So I compared it to other engines which ones do not last 80000 miles.

I do not think the covers have any meaning beyond the aesthetic. It is important whether it is N63 or N63TU.

When exactly was this N63(TU) implemented? I know that this car has eight speed. Are there any n63s which have eight speeds or only tu has it?
