a 2010 mondeo should be 24c16 eeprom. if it says chip not found when you clip it, then you need to unsolder it. i dont recommend reading whilst on the board, but yes we all do it for ease.

so desolder and clip it in the clip. should be fine then mate.

click thanks wink

lexus is220 did as a is200 with 93c56 chip

Ok,
i have found a chip that the pomona clip (5250) fits & is directly behind the lcd odo etc display in a cluster of components that are local to the lcd area also (see pic 1).
the chip has the numbers 33063v & pgsf on it? however there are two other chips the same that the clip will also fit directly beside each other that are further away from the lcd but have a different number (nxp t ja1040) on them both (see pic 2 end of pen..pic is upside down though).
any theories on this?
& if i put the digiprog on them while still on the board, will it first tell me that it can either read or not recognize without damage? & also if i turn the clip around the other way & try again? (i notice that the clip has a wee bit of black marker pen on one side, (as in pic 1..maybe negative? but which pin?)
the 2nd last pic is a close up of the last pic.

ive only ever had to use the obd port on cars to sort issues hence i am a bit unclear on this side of things & dont want to damage components etc, so any help to resolve this odo correction would be very much appreciated!

thanks all

Hello mate. I've never not known digi not to do this speedo via obd. I have done lots of them via obd using v4.88. Does it light up orange/red when in car?

Smok ford will be your next option here I would have thought

ok so i tried again, & the same thing "unknown version". the dash, hazard lights & chime sounds all went off then all lite up in red/orange color as per norm for the lcd, & dash sounded again also.
didgiprog seems to run through a scan that takes a few second but it comes up "unknown version"
thanks again.
tried to upload a video but didnt work by the looks of things
