I'm about to purchase the Digiprog3 4.88 to work on a Porsche 997.
I see on the vehicle list:
Porsche 997 MCU Program via chip
Porsche 997 Tacho & MCU Programming Via Chips
I have no idea what "via chip" means. Has anyone done this for the 997? Does it work properly?
Anyone have a user manual so I can make sure it will work for me before I buy this?

Okay thanks Bo, I get it now. Has anyone actually done it for the 997? Does the chip need to be desolder out?
If so, I may want to look for other tools that uses the obd port. Anyone knows which one works?

there are two ways and i dont want to damage anything..
one connection wire on the ST01 is red colored!!
The red is nummer 1 and some chips have a dot. The dot is the nummer 1 side. Or if you have the text on the chip on the Way you can read and place the st01 over it with the red on left side

2001 Toyota Echo, use Yaris c46 OK
2006 Ford escape HCS12 OK
2002 Trailblazer no need to solder chip OK
2003 GMC Sierra no need solder chip use Avalanche OK, HUMMER -2007 should work also and can do hours.

2000-02 is 93C56
2005-07 is 93C66
Read save, edit and write using EEPROM and Tachosoft?
Try other models? If read right, should program right. I never hurt eeporm reading it, only writing it.
