XS Evolution Automatic Firmware updating - Simple - 24-07-2017
To make DiagBox check the VCI firmware and update if necessary,
Precaution:
Copy or move all files (NOT folders) inside "C:\AWRoot\bin\Launcher" to a safe location before performing the following:
1- Download "Launcher_850.zip" from the link provided
2- Create a back-up of all (only) files inside "C:\AWRoot\bin\Launcher"
3- Extract all files into "C:\AWRoot\bin\Launcher" replacing/overwriting existing files.
3- The APPLI.COM file in the folder is v4.3.5, if you wish to change it, rename your preferred Firmware inside Launcher folder to APPLI.COM.
4- Connect your XS Evolution VCI and wait until it is recognised
5- Launch DiagBox, it will check the VCI Firmware and update (upgrade/downgrade) ONLY if necessary.
The update function can be disabled by setting "MAJ_COM=TRUE" to "MAJ_COM=FALSE" in "C:\AWRoot\bin\Launcher\ap.ini"
In case reverting to the original setting is needed,
1- Delete all files (only) inside "C:\AWRoot\bin\launcher".
2- Restore backed-up files back to their original state.
Note: Some users may be afraid that a damaging APPLI.COM may be included in a future update release. It does not matter if this is feasible or not, you can change AP.INI settings to disable firmware update after performing your desired update and put your mind at rest.

Pp2000 need APPLI_4.2.2 LP.COM ? not work 4.3.x ? i have problem when tested by ecu. ecu not responding. my clone actia 4.3.2.

Thanks, I reviewed the list in the link provided and noticed that some files seem to have been renamed.
I just wanted to point out that all updates up to 8.17 are full DiagBox updates, beyond that they are App folder (Lexia and PP2000) updates.

I have 2 interfaces, one original and a clone one..
i have used the firmware updater on my original (by mistake) and now I am worried I have change the serial on it to a clone?
Is this tool capable of changing serial number?

It should be fine, the serial number does not get changed with these firmware (2.0.1 to 4.3.5), in fact they are original software which is supposed to be checked and automatically updated by DiagBox when you connect. It has been disabled by scarymistake and maitresox out of fear that PSA might release a version that can block clones.
Also, it is a function of DiagBox not the operating system, it works on all Windows..
