ALC - adaptive light control repair - BimmerSLO - 24-07-2017 Has anyone here repaired an ALC module from a E46 coupe or early E60 before? It is the small module behind the glove box. The module does not respond anymore, I am thinking that there is a power supply problem on the module (fuses were ok). There are 3 capacitors on the board. Might one be broken? RE: ALC - adaptive light control repair - RocketSurgeon - 26-07-2017 One of the chief problems for modules from that generation is cold joints caused by the lead free solder. You could test the capacitors, MOSFETS, resistors, etc with a multimeter and replace as necessary. Look for swollen electrolytic capacitors. People have had luck with reworking the boards with flux and a hot air station. RE: ALC - adaptive light control repair - cursor - 07-08-2017 Its problem with dual switching diode.
