Strange UIF problem. Some advice needed - Alexandru.k_24 - 19-10-2017

Hello dear friends,
I have a strange problem with my car (BMW e90 320d, automatic). The UIF section of my car looks like it`s written in hebrew language smile) I have a lot of modules with 000000 and ÿÿÿÿÿÿ VIN number. Can someone tell me why? Theoretically the car should not even start, because my CAS VIN number is 000000. Anyway, can someone please tell me why I have this problem, and whether it can be fixed. I have tried different softwares like INPA and Dr.Gini. They show the same informations about my car. I have even tried with different SP-Daten versions.

Also, the second problem is that even if my car is in P position, ISTA/D shows that the transmission is in R. In R it shows that is on neutral N, on neutral N it shows that is in D and in D, finally it shows that is in D. The real gears position is staggered from what ISTA/D is showing.

Even so, the car shows no error code when scanned with ISTA or any other software. The car runs fine but I`m curious about those 2 problems. I hope someone can give me some advice about my problems. Sorry for my long post. I hope someone will take time and read the whole post biggrin
Thank you.

The reason why the value is 000000 or ÿÿÿÿÿÿ is that since factory installation the ecus have never been updated. Normally when installed in factory the only modules to carry vin is cas, nfrm etc most of them don’t have vin in uif. They will get updated once you do an update of that module.
I don’t have a clue about your second issues

ÿÿÿÿÿÿ is empty VIN
000000 is NOT empty VIN. Some flashed and entered zero's to pass the step where VIN is required.

So, it is ok to be like that, or there is a problem with my car?

It’s ok. Don’t worry about it.

One and only Problem with 0000000 VIN is that module can be coded when you choose SG_CODIEREN, when coding choose SG_CODIEREN_OHNE_VIN or it was SG_OHNE_VIN_CODIEREN

I don`t understand you. What are you saying is that when I use NCS Expert, after editing the TRC file and put it into WORK folder, I must use SG_CODIEREN_OHNE_VIN instead SG_CODIEREN to code the module with 00000 VIN number?

Yes, if SG_CODIEREN don't work use other method.
