Help BMW 116i no com's - Kenny - 11-11-2017

Hi all

I have a BMW 116i that has abs/airbag warning lights on i wish to clear.
The problem is i am not getting any com's with the car.

BMW 116i 01/12/2007 / N45 manual/ E87

I tried with ISTA D with ICOM and Inpa with inpa cable and Launch.
It does not communicate with any ecu.
With Ista it picks up terminal 30 battery voltage but not ignition.
I then get errors ignition on not detected.

The car drives, windows and lights etc all work.
I have tried disconnecting cluster, ABS, Radio, Climate panel, PDC ecu, Airbag ecu.
The JBE under cubby had E90 sticker on so i put it into a E90 and i have com's with E90.
With E90 JBE in the 116i still no com's.
I read 120 ohm resistance over the pair of com wires at diagnostic plug.

Any new ideas?

Thanks

Try to find another BMW car to connect to, just to confirm that you have the correct softwares and add ons to establish communication with the car because sounds like you have software issue and your car has no problem.

1er , 3er , x1 . all those cars are under E8x chassis and all shares many modules including JBE so it's OK if you see E90 sticker in your car.

The tools all work because i connected them to E90 when changing the JBE.

It could be it has diagnostic lines cut or some "secret" installed or wires switched around in order to "protect" the car. I think its called "securing OBD". Check the wiring from diagnostic plug.

Can someone see if pinout looks correct?

Pinout looks correct. If wires are ok up to JBE I would suggest you check fuse F74.

Update: you already told its 120ohms between pins, so wiring should be ok unless those blue-white and yellow-white wires are intermixed at that connector between OBD and JBE.

I will double check the power on fuse 74 and wires to JBE thanks.

Check the power on X04010--3&22 and X14271--45(15WUP)
