Newbie help Alfa GT Tuning - Kenny - 03-12-2017

I am playing around trying to see if performance tuning is for me or not.
I have a relative who is a big Alfa fan that wanted a map for his car.
2005 Alfa Gt 1.9 JTD 16valve 110kw (150hp) edc16.
He had egr problems and we used software on forum to egr delete.
It has worked and no faults came back.

He did a bit of homework and wanted file done by specific on line service.
Needless to say he is not happy with the file.
He says he does not really feel any difference.

When i look at the map most of the changes are all at upper end and nothing really on bottom end.
He says the car is flat on pull off and low down power.
So the car is mostly used for town driving.

I have been playing and found another original file to compare.

I'm a beginner so don't know how to compare files in Winols yet so using ECM titanium.
If i compare my original file with donar original file i get a difference in
Torque request during standard conditions.
The difference is 30 percent from low down all the way up.

I loaded the map to the car just for test purpose and he liked the response.

My questions are:

1. Is it safe and can i add these values to the purchased modified map?
2. Is the purchased modified map any good?
3. In the original map torque request on take off and torque request during standard condition are the same.
Can i apply these changes to torque request on take off map?
4. Is there any other pointers someone can share for a reliable map with quick response?
5. Does anyone have a good tuned map i can compare with?

Thanks
ps. In rar file is ori file, EGR off file, compared ori - file and purchased file.
And incase i cant add image to forum , screen shot of torque request difference.

I can answer this question for you

no, it is not.

load the file you found on the net into a real tuning program like winols and you will see that it differs at 66% of the bytes from your original file pulled from ecu

you're lucky you did not brick the ecu. just because files share the same sw number does not mean they are correct for the vehicle, i think in this case you were lucky

if you friend is happy with the response of the lucky escape then maybe you can leave it at that and just apply egr off to the same file? since you claimed he had issues

Ok, heres a file for you to test

- all the below has been applied to YOUR ori file
- i took a tuning file for your sw version and transferred the tuning
- added the egr off solution you have already tested to it
- added the same torque levels you have already tested to it

exported the file, attached smile

thx and rep handshakeyes

that would be good thanks, the egr/torque request is same as you have tested but obviously other maps changed too so should be big difference now
