E90 N46 Valvetronic - bmwcare - 04-07-2018

Hello,
This is a 2006 E90 320i with the N46B20B engine.
This is the MV946 DME.

Codes stored are for Valvetronic.
2A70 - Valvetronic, plausibility: sporadic current fluctuations
2A69 - Valvetronic, power supply actuator motor

Servomotor has been replaced - no change.
Wiring has been tested from Servomotor to DME - all ok.

ISTA+ suggests to renew DME. However, this car is not worth any money. Is it possible to repair the DME?
Is it MOFSETS?
It appears that the 'drivers' or power supply for the servomotor from DME has failed.
Everything else works ok.

Does anybody have picture or repair procedure for this?

Many thanks to all

How about valvetronic relay? :

Check voltage supply from relay K6316(two orange or red-white cables ). Check this with min. 21W bulb, not with multimeter

Sorry, I don't speak German.

Voltage supply from Valvetronic relay is fine. Actually it's one of the measures in ISTA+ test plan. The problem is internal to DME.

And why not with multimeter?

Because a multimeter will not load the circuit. Not a reliable measurement.
Ideally you would add a load and scope the amperage too.

But the supply to DME is perfect.

Chage the electric motor from valvetronic new and ORIGINAL part from BMW, learn it with ISTA D in service functions ( valvetronic limit pozitions), delete all adaptations values.

I have done that. Genuine SiemensVDO.
Adaptions fail to learn as the DME cannot drive the Servomotor.
The problem is the power supply FROM DME to Servomotor.

Did you check with a bulb, or only read with ista from dme?

Of course I load tested it - and checked relay.
It's internal to DME.
On older models there was a separate Valvetronic ECU which regularly failed in similar fashion.
I'm asking if anyone knows how to repair DME with this fault.
