flash op-com with fw 1.45

RE: Op-com fw 1.45 - asto - 20-04-2014

Hi McMihai
what is diferent from v1.44?thnx

RE: Op-com fw 1.45 - mattydr67 - 20-04-2014

JFI mate
The op-com softwears version use one or other fimrwear version as fw 1.33, fw 1.39, fw 1.41, fw 1.43, fw 1.44 fw 1.45, fw 1.47 fw 1.59 fw 1.60 ( the last one )
So as an example:
OP-COM CHina clone ( op-com 100219a ) use fw 1.39 - do not use other firmwear
OP-COM softears from 2011 use fw1.44
OP-COM softwear from 2012 used fw 1.45 and the softwear released at the end of that year used fw1.47
OP-COm softwears from 2014 used fw1.59
and VAUX-COm version, Romanian and German version of OP-COM used fw1.60
So the difference it is not in the firmwear as 1.44., 1.45, the difference it is in the softwear version
With other words if you have an op-com tool that it has firmwear 1.39 and you'll try to use it with for instance OP-COM 131223c english version the sosftwear will upgrade the firmwear of your interface to the version that its need- to 1.59
If then you try one of the version in romanian/german or vaux-com version 131223 the softwears will upgrade the firmwear of the tool to the fw 1.60
So now in conclusion. You do not need to change the firmwear of your tool with one or other. You only need to use the necesarry firmwear for the softwear version that you are using it
Good luck

P.S. - changing firmwear version in op-com chinese clone it is only advertising - nothing good in work but maybe bad things

RE: Op-com fw 1.45 - andrius - 29-05-2014

Hi, could anyone share newer FW? like 1.59 or 1.60? many thanks smile

RE: Op-com fw 1.45 - mattydr67 - 29-05-2014

Do you have a HQ clone mate?
If yes the firmware upgrades it is do it automaticallyIf you want to use it with other version of softwares that need it is using other firmware versions then this firmware are not such a good
You know a firmware it is as you give it a comand, do this , do that and the firmware knows your command and it will do it what you command
But if you use other firmwares then you will comand do this or do that and the firmware will know do this but will not know do that
I belive you follow me well what I wnated to say
Good luck

Mate don't waist your time to upgrade or downgrade the firmware in the clone like this one in the pics becasue you'll damage the tool and it will not work anymore
This tools cannot be upgraded. The only way it is to repace the MCU with a original Microchip PIC18F458
remove 2 component from PCB
Remake a connection on bord and cur\t another one
Then reprogrammthe new brand chip PIC18F458 and you can have a brand new clone that will be aviable to upgrade the firmware of the interface
The firmware must be the one that it is required by the sfotware version
Do not use other one because will not 100% correct
A normal clone not moded cannot works with the Moded software that works with as we named HQ clone
This not depend by the ept or firmware and depend by the FTDI ID and PIC dump. All it is about a marriaged dump of PIC MCU with the FTDI ID - a uniq combination
Good luck

Guys because a lot of peaple want to waist their times to change the firmware because they belive that the difference between a HQ clone and a china clone it is the firmware then I shared the firmware 1.59
So you can still dreaming
Good luck

RE: Op-com fw 1.45 - Click4 - 04-09-2015

I have a clone with original chip, board dated 2007.

Currently running 1.45 firmware, I flashed it to that from 1.39 if I can remember last year.

Is 1.45 the latest I can use on it?

Also have recently another problem with my interface, when in live data it will work fine, then stop reporting anything and drop connection. At that point can't even clear fault codes and tx light stays on.

Have to unplug everything then restart the software to get it to reconnect... Any suggestions on what I need to do to fix this if possible? Don't want to buy another interface as my current one has genuine chip.

RE: Op-com fw 1.45 - mattydr67 - 04-09-2015

First of all if you are using vaux-com 120309a the firmware its fw1.45
No need higher. The last firmware version is fw1.64
You an upgrade or downgrade you tool firmware as you wish with any fw versions at least you have a good PIC18F458 inside
The issue connection in what car/model/year is happening?
Good luck

Hi, yep using Vaux-Com 120309a with firmware 1.45.

Yep, definitely have genuine chip, it is not scratched on top and is printed.

any benefit to upgrading to 1.64?

It is a Vauxhall Vectra B 2001.

Doesn't matter what ecu im trying to connect to, ABS, ECM etc, I can connect fine, I can clear error codes fine... but if I go into live data it will start off working fine, then stop working after varying amounts of time, sometimes within seconds, sometimes a minute or 2... or earlier had it working for a few minutes.

once it stops working, if I try to clear fault codes it will give me a timeout error.

If I close Vaux-Com, re-open it wil connect again fine and read live data until it times out again.

RE: Op-com fw 1.45 - mattydr67 - 04-09-2015

Mate the vaux-com 120309a is need fw1.45
All the other upgraded firmwares will not help you at all.
As we discused many times. Each version of op-com/vaux-com is useing a firmware version.
That one its the best.
Now comming back to your issue about "time out" error. This has nothing to do with the firmware.
It is a timming issue in kwp2000 controlers-1.7L or/and 2.2L cars
Good luck
