Cannot clear fault codes at DME and EGS - ferbmw - 19-09-2018

Hi,

I AM New AT THIS FORUM SO FIRST OF ALL THANKS FOR ACCEPTING ME.

I AM USING ISTA D VERSION 4.13.14. I am having an issue when trying to clear fault codes at DME and EGS.
I select DME or EGS, then call up ECU functions , then triger components, then clear faul codes and once selected, on the right side of the screen, it appears a msg saying: "This function has been deactivated due to obdII legislation".
Do you have any idea why this function has been deactivated? My car was recently updated to i level 18-07-531 by the local BMW dealer and from then I cannot clear faul codes over these two modules.
I could clear other errors that were present at IKha and FEM modules, but these other two modules show this msg.
My car is a BMw 330 Sport Line year model 2016 AT.

Thanks in advance

Connect -> scan for errors -> show errors -> delete errors

ok. I did this today and I had to emulate a fault ( I disconet the MAF sensor ) and trigered the error. At that moment I tried to clear faul codes through the DME and again , showed the same msg.
Then I look for the error in the general screen, and from there I could clear all ECUs, including DME.
In the past, if there were some errors, I entered each ecu and cleared the faul codes from each one. It seems in this ista version, (or for this level 18-07-531??? ) , has been configured to clear fault codes through the general screen instead from from each ECU. However this is correct for DME en EGS; rest of the ECUs can be cleared from each module.

So much time consuming

First question is: which codes the DME and EGS have that you want to delete?

Per the error description DME and EGS maybe looking at some error or failed component/sensor that has not been replaced

For diagnosis follow the test plan if not faults found ISTA D may want to update the software in DME and EGS before allowing to delete the faults.
