P2BAC error on 2,5L Crafter from 2010 with CECB engine - Vin_Ka - 23-05-2022

Hi all,

I bought me this "project" Volkswagen Crafter with issues. They told me the van was smoking a lot and probably the turbo was the main source of it.

I am not that afraid so took the gamble and started trouble shooting with all the basics.

Immediately I found something almost unbelievable in the engine. Factory default the motor should contain 9L of motor oil but I drained 14L !! out of it. No wonder the van was smoking wink

The oil is off course everywhere in the engine now and preventive I started with changing the turbo for a original refurbished 1 and also the DPF is changed for a refurbished original 1 since also the DPF light was burning on the dash. The DPF was quiet heavy and I think full of oil.

Now I started the engine again and of course there is still a lot of grey/white smoke of all the leftover oil inside the engine.
The engine was running for like 3 minutes and suddenly all lights came on in the dash and the engine stopped.

Now I diagnosed the van and the following error came up:
P2BAC NOX-ÜBERSCHREITUNG - DEAKTIVIERUNG DES ABGASRüCKFüHRUNGSSYSTEMS (AGR)

I think this is correct in this case of all the smoke which came out of the exhaust. The engine is not able to start anymore from that moment.

I have this cheap diagnose tool from "Autoaid" who just simply does not let me clear the error code.

What I want to know is if I use another diagnose tool, should I be able to clear this code? Do you guys have any suggestions for a not to expensive solution to get a bit deeper in the diagnose?

If I get the van to work, I'd like to use him to transport the go karts from my son and I to the tracks

Greetings,
