If Audi are so mean to brick the MMI for wrong software it could be new scandal like the diesel fraud. I hope no.
Are you 100% sure it is bricked and I need a new one ?

The new MMI - price about 3000-3500 EUR or more (no software, no map, no activation......)

Even if someone put modified software they have no right to make 3000 EUR damage of the car. I am sure that is not the case.

Can someone give me the background on what the issues are with the VIN when updating maps as discussed here please?
I have an A6 with MMI 3G+ and have already updated firmware to 770 but haven't yet taken the plunge with the map update. Instructions mention "Remove vin number in mmi" as an optional task but I don't currently understand why you'd do this.

MMI is bricked.By no chance MMI unit last digits are 666 !
Can you tell me someone who can repair that MMI ?!!!
