2014 Vito 113 2.2 diesel cutting out. - jamesworts - 11-08-2023

Hi,

2014 Vito 2.2 diesel, will randomly lose power and cut out. Either when driving along or at idle.

Totally random when it does it.

When it does stop, the glow plug light flickers, doesn't blink, but flickers. The EGR valve starts chattering and the fuel pump in the tank comes on and off repeatedly.

Anyone have any ideas?

There is P0685 fault when it happens.

Thanks

The ECU resets due to lack of electrical power, start there.

Thank you, I will look.

As gcs190 says, check voltage to ECU.

Maybe need to replace the ECM/PCM relay.

Also check/test wiring harness.

Replaced the relay and tested power at ECU, whilst it was going on and off the voltage was staying the same.

If you have checked well and none of the ECU multifeeds were the reason, the ECU itself may be bad.

If I replace engine ecu, can I use ANY Delphi CRD2.20 OM651 ECU or does it need to be same Mercedes part number?
Thanks
