G05 TV Retrofit - mcrussell - 29-01-2024
Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of retrofitting TV to my G05 30d, it currently has HK, Am I right in thinking I can fit a used RAM module & just code it or would it require virginizing & validating?
My car doesnt have any FSC for ASD.

If you do not have any FSCs you can fit another RAM and code it. RAM does not require validation, Which year is your x5 from?

Coding is not enough. Even if his car does not have FSC for ASD, he must change the VIN (e.g. in FSC-Extended > WriteDataByIdentifierVIN in e-sys) to the vin of his car. Coding does not change the main vin in RAM. The second option is to do a RAM reflash which will also change the VIN to the correct one.

its an 07/2020 build

Thanks for the info, I can update the CP Vin in eSys, I was worried that the RAM required Compnent validation

Look, the author asked if he has to do virgin ram or do RAM validation, if he is retrofitting anything I'm guessing he knows how to change vin or do flash module using esys. That is why as I wrote earlier he can easily swap it and code it/flash it this module.
Definitely does not need validation RAM in this car.

If I buy a used RAM that has an FSC code in it for ASD, would that cause an issue or would it be ignored as my car doesnt have ASD?
