Mazda 3 transmission issues - koziol - 09-04-2024

2010 Mazda 3 2.5L automatic  ,
jerks badly when you shift to reverse or drive ,really hard kick (slam)
other than that the car runs ok , no errors newTCM.
the same jerk i had in the past on MB or BMW tranny when module was not programmed.

So, someone has just replaced TCM without any programming/configuration? Just Plug-n-Play?

Probably need to load AsBuilt configuration and update TCM module calibration if necessary (need to use OEM IDS/FJDS or Forscan with license)

I checked that with IDS and showing that latest calibration already loaded.

Which type of transmission are? DCT450, TF80, etc.

RE: Mazda 3 transmission issues - pupu144 - 09-04-2024

If there is some type of "shift-point adoptation" procedure, and you have run it, and there still are kicks after driving some distance (it can take up to 100+km for some gearboxes to "re-learn") - maybe the problem is not with a software part of things after all..

What is the history of this car? Any previous issues with transmission?

RE: Mazda 3 transmission issues - koziol - 09-04-2024

dealer sold it to one of our costumers and he said original tranny was replaced
was no reverse at all and shifts bad.
actual transmission on the car is second hand tranny.

@JorBo - was there even any Mazda with a DCT box? I remember the sales pitch of a local Mazda dealer was that it this had "classic" autobox (with torque converter, etc.)..

@koziol - maybe this second box is starting to be on it's way out too.
Harsh shifting which does not go away usually is not a great sign. I'd advice for customer to go back to this dealer for them to have a look (there should be some warranty in place, if not too much time has passed), before he starts throwing any money at it.
