I am looking to fit a LCI climate control panel to my pre LCI F25 X3. I have seen two threads on Bimmerfest who have done it.

But I am getting conflicting info to whether any coding is required. Current X3 has dual zine climate and so has new panel.

Has anyone fitted a LCI climate control panel on there F25? If so, is it a straight swap or is coding required?

I do it allready in a F83 and F30. So i think there will be no problem.

I do it allready in a F83 and F30. So i think there will be no problem.

I was told it is the following;

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on desired ECU => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from above => Select OK => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE

Is this correct?

But when it's a used IHKA3, then do the following:

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read ECU => Right-Click on IHKA3 (Not on the CAFD) => Select CODE.

Your procedure for NEW IHKA, which never had been coded.
My procedure for USED IHKA, which had coded in the past.

How did you do on F30? the pre LCI and LCI panels have different LIN messages?

How did you do on F30? the pre LCI and LCI panels have different LIN messages?

Plug and play, only coding is required at the two cars i did.

Just to update this thread. I upgraded to the LCI HVAC panel and it worked straight away, no coding was needed.

Are you sure the a/c works lol coz I did this my self on my car and everything works apart from a/c
