Guys,
I need to flash an E87 DME with WinKFP.
What settings are recommended for successfuly flash this kind of ECU?
I flashed in the past different kinds of ECUs without problems but on one occasion when I tried to flash a DME, it failed.
My understanding is that I have to set specific latencies for DME communication.
Please help me with a detailed setup of WinKFP and communications port.
I will use ICOM NEXT.

no special setup - just Remote: for driver and ip you are connected to, than lock your icom and you can update. try first INPA if it works

Signature check faults are usually down to USB leads, ICOM is better.

You will want to import assembly line data for E89 chassis, BMW coding tool 2.50 is good for this.
Use comfort mode and "update zusb", and WinKFP will find the file for you.

On E60 I have tried to update DDE with ICOM Next and after update ECU was dead, engine crank but won't start.
I have flashed with K+DCAN and ECU was alive.

So Icom NEXT does not work well with Winkfp? Is it better to use Icom A2?

ICOM has worked on everything for me.
I do usually use K+DCAN, but it will give signature check faults on E90 M3 DME, E60 GWS, an E70 CAS, and also I have had it erase an E39 DDE and then tell me if has an issue, so good to have both tools available.

Would like to remark that the automatic mode from Winpkf in my case did not select the correct ZUSB for the DME. Not sure why still. Though it suggests to go from a 8514383 to 8478904 in automatic mode (update for another vehicle VO). Though the correct ZUSB in the sequence is 8519744, so therefore I would not always rely on Winpkf being correct in his choice.

Use BimmerGeeks K+DCAN cable and you shouldn`t get any signature check faults.
