Power supply for flashing a hybrid?
Do you need a power supply to flash a hybrid? I mean a car like G30 530e. When you read codes etc. the 12v system voltage is being kept up with the hybrid battery, but when you go to flash it with E-sys will hybrid battery keep the 12v system voltage up? Got I friend living 300km away doing a lci tail light install and the i-level is too old in the car and he doesn't have a power supply.

RE: Power supply for flashing a hybrid?
Short answer - Yes of course.
Long answer - hybrid supply may (and usually will) be SWITCHED OFF during flashing. And for taillights AFAIR you need to flash BDC which is supposed to be flashed with ignition off when hybrid supply is not active either. So you definitely need external one. BTW You also need to disconnect external power cable as some units will fail flashing if connected to mains. |
