Hey Guys,

Got an unusual issue on a bmw 330i 2006 model sedan.

The car was getting an engine light with codes 2A12,2A13,2A18.  This indicates DMTL pump issues and common cause is wires corroding behind driver side wheel well.

My friend took off the wheel  and found some corroded wires, so he cut the corroded part out and fixed it up.  But turns out these wires were not DMTL related, rather it was prewiring for the alarm siren (the car did not come with alarm).  

So when he cut to fix one of the wires there was a spark and now the CAS does not respond.  Car runs no issues but central locking / comfort access no longer works, need to insert key to start.  We checked all the fuses under the glove box but they all seem good.  

Any other reason this could be caused or any ideas what to try to fix to get the cas to respond?

Did you read codes?

It still may be a fuse, maybe you didn't check properly?

You should double-check the F19 7.5A for the Comfort access control unit.

So which one is it really, which do not respond - CAS or CA??? From your description it's CA which should not respond, not CAS. And there is a power wire going to the siren fused by F19 (as already mentioned) which also powers CA.

Thanks guys so I replaced fuse 19 and communication with Cas is restored. No codes
In ista now but keys and comfort access still don’t work. Key works to start car when inserted in slot but all comfort access lost. Key buttons don’t unlock or lock the car. New batteries. Tried both keys. Now what to do?

CAS and CA all green in ISTA

If everything is green and it has worked before so it might be that there is no power supply for diversity antenna. Check fuse F2 5A in junction box (under glow box).
