2017 Kia Niro Code B149000
Hello,
I have an issue that I hope the community will be able to steer me in the right direction. I bought a 2017 Kia Niro. I have resolved a number of the electrical issues with a GDS E-K-03-12-0000 KIA GDS update 2016 update. But one code I have been having problems with. B149000. The ocs sensor was bad so I replaced it. I entered GDS to begin the reset procedure but it wont give me that options for that code. Instead it wants to Reset the Airbag module. This will not solve my issue (I have tried to complete the given option with no luck) . also B149000 does not show up on my dtc manual list within the GDS software. It simply skips this code. I am guessing this is a part of the issue? Basically I would like help to get my current version of GDS software to complete the repair below to show up. Is there a way to get the software to this point manually? Here are the instructions for this repair: NIRO(DE HEV) > 2017 > G 1.6 GDI KAPPA > Airbag > Airbag(Event #1) > B149000 OCS(Occupant Classification System) Defect Monitor DTC Status Inspection Condition Inspection Procedure Reference 1. Ignition "ON". 1. Connect KDS/GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC). 2. Monitor "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" with KDS/GDS. Active Fault ▶ Go to "Monitor KDS/GDS Data" procedure. History/Pending Fault ▶ Go to "Verification of Repair" procedure. Monitor KDS/GDS Data Inspection Condition Inspection Procedure Reference 1. Ignition "ON", engine "OFF". 2. No occupant on the passenger seat. 1. Connect KDS/GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC). 2. Monitor parameters in "Current Data" with KDS/GDS. Fig.1 1. Ignition "ON", engine "OFF". 2. No occupant on the passenger seat. Passenger Occupied Good ▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or SRSCM’s connector or was repaired and SRSCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Repair" procedure. No Good ▶ Go to "Body Sensor Reset" procedure. Body Sensor Reset Inspection Condition Inspection Procedure Reference 1. Ignition "ON", engine "OFF" 1. Connect KDS/GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC). 2. Perform "Body Sensor Reset" in "Vehicle S/W management". Body Sensor Reset Good ▶ Check module connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Repair" procedure. No Good ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Repair" procedure. Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I am very close in completing this vehicle but need to resolve this airbag issue for an inspection in the united states. |
