2GB RAM board is not enough for ID5 software, it will start giving trouble sooner or later, they can only optimize firmware so much, but 50% of RAM it would be a hard job. Beside that, motherboards on 2GB and 4GB RAM devices are identical, they even have same part numbers it is just matter of "missing components" which are not addressed in ID4 BSP. As for BMW Component Protection, it will be only enabled on cars that have BDM (Body Domain Controller), so newer chasis only, without it, there is no CP so 170 fsc is only for cars with BDM with activated CP mode.

Parts/difference between boards and missing parts 2GB vs 4GB:
missing ram, nxp and some logic.
