ISTA-P version 3.55.0.300 is from year 2014 month 12

So that should be fine.

Can you explain what do you mean by "new is e070-16-07-505"? Its not the newest version around.

3.55.0 has E070-14-11-501 (so November of 2014) for E70 and your car has 2006 software so it should work. Either your ISTA/P is damaged or there is something else. Unless by "new is e070-16-07-505" you mean it was already updated to that version then you need 3.59.4 as minimum.

You really need to do much reading in this forum first. There is no "old" or "new". There is original (which came from factory) and current level. If your "new" is current, then of course 3.55 will not recognize it. As I already wrote you need at least 3.59.4 for that. And ISTA-D will not even try to programm E series car.

You can't upgrade from 3.55 directly to 3.59.4. You will have to install 3.59.0, then .1 and so on until .4. But why not just use latest?

I do not know if it work with icom a1... Everywhere compatible shows only with icom a2 and bmw next
