Used DME and CAS on Mini r56
Hi peeps,
I need some help if possible. On my wife`s r56 I had to replace DME and CAS. Now the ABS lights are on because the chassis number is incorrect for the vehicle. Is it possible to change the chassis number in the abs control unit to match the dme etc? Is it possible to be done via NCS? A friend of mine has a laptop that I can borrow with NCS Expert on it and an ICOM cable. Basically I have fitted a DME and CAS unit from a donor R56 Cooper S, but the traction control lights are on the dash constantly as there is a discrepancy in the chassis numbers basically. Any idea how can I fix this please? Any help will be highly appreciated. My wife needs the car, or else she will get my F31, which I don`t want to give it to her, so please tell me how to help her in order to help myself. Thank you in advance! |

RE: New DME and CAS on Mini r56
It should be no problem to code the ABS unit to the new VIN with NCS Expert.
You will have to make sure that the Vehicle Order is correct in the donor CAS if you want to code it or use any fancy tool like ISTA-P. (When you have NCS Expert, just read it from FRM and write it to CAS) Also you might need to re-calibrate the steer angle sensor. |

Change the title from new to used.
Used cas module needs eeprom work done for example by R270 of BMW Explorer, Autohex etc. MGU virgin and patching in Europa.

Only if you care about the dot and the error codes. XuLeTZ only complains about the ABS light so if he does not care about the dot he does not need to modify CAS in any way.

RE: Used DME and CAS on Mini r56
Gosh. That’s not something I can do because my lack of experience.
I guess I have to take it to someone to ‘virginize’ them. I will post the DME and CAS with the car keys and hopefully this will work. Tool32 is in german, so is a dead end for me Thank you everybody for your help and support. |
