A6 C8 - Power steering problem
My dad bought an Audi A6 C8, washed it from underneath, and then the power steering stopped working. After clearing the errors, one error remained, as shown in the picture. Now the power steering works in such a way that up to a certain point, the steering wheel turns easily, but then turning left or right becomes very difficult, making it impossible to steer. We tried uploading a new flash from several different cars, including an Audi A6, but it didn't help.
The error code is U14900. |

RE: A6 C8 - Power steering problem
First error - you need to upload correct dataset into module. It's pretty normal for dataset data to get erased after flashing ECUs. This would explain strange steering rack behavior - it works in some factory default mode.
Second error - seems to be related to ABS wheel sensor (front left). Totally clicks with your story about cleaning vehicle from below - either some dirt and grime got onto sensor, or water jet have destroyed some half-broken wiring. P.S. judging by your train of thoughts of flashing some random firmwares in hopes it would fix the issue, without doing any diagnostics - I would leave any further repairs and maintenance of cars in your family to a professional workshop.. |

That was done by the professional guy, he tried almost everything to get it working , done almost everything but only power steering error and problem persist (it was working before) some short might happened. Car has 10kkm on dash , so it's a brand new car after small front end damage . Btw ETKa says different code . |

People respond on the information that you provide Still, this doesn't discard any information already provided above. 1) Sort EPS first with Odis Online and see if the problem persists. 2) Check ABS sensor/wiring for damage. And use ODIS - the app on the screenshot looks like some third party multi-brand diag solution... |
