Hi! 

I have a '09 e82 118d that has one of those FRM3 modules that bricks easly wile coding with Carly or NCS Expert, which in turn prevents me from doing any alteration to the car since I can't code anything to the VO of the FRM... Is there any known way of coding this module without bricking it?

I think that the most common problem are voltage spikes. So connect a good power supply and you're ready for take off

I thought the same yes, but a friend of mine, who does FRM repairs, tried that and it still kills the module... Even in BMW stealers this happen and they do the substitution without any cost when is their fault while working in the car, from what a friend of my that works there told me

it doens't matter what hardware do you use, or what program or what sw your frm3 is. It is simply a factory failure of the frm3 components. They are build that way, that in some day they are going to die.

simply hold a good programmer beside and so you can resurrect every frm3

update w istap , not ista d don't read faults early firmware will kill module ,  I know in early  istap  2.54 range unsure exact  version but later one  ok  , ie 3.64 plus

I repair a lot of frm3, I did a few tests and tried to brick it again, didn´t happen to me with c33

It is correct with newest software , the frm3 will not die anymore.....
