Disable any antivirus software during install as i notice this can affect it too. Also close all apps out running on the computer.

also check if use loader to restore files modded by tool.
or if use expert mode or lang tab, brand tab... restore config files.
when ISTAP all files show as "original" is possible update to the new version.

Don't worry.

First, before running the update, you must put the original files that you have modified (ConfigurationSettings.xml, TaurusClientConfig.xml, NewSessionServerMode.xml, etc, etc). Otherwise you will again fail the update.

To check update was successful, go to the following path.

C:\ProgramData\BMW\ISPI\config\TRIC\ISTA-P\Fingerprints

and verify that these files exist.

ISTA-P_3.56.1.002.ok

I think that's impossible, since the old version doesn 't exist anymore.
The version screen in ISTA P (NOT THE LOADER) really shows the old number?

I remember if you have a folder at “c:/apps”（maybe it is a older version of ISTAP），the loader automatically load from this,please try to delete this folder.

few versions back I edited only these files for original icom...

1) \apps\wsm\apps\agent\data\DeviceInventory-ICOMXXXXXXX.xml
2) \apps\wsm\apps\agent\data\UnitRegistration-ICOMXXXXXXX.xml

nothing more I think
