Well to be very clear with you I am working on bmw eletronics for over 10 years.... I have seen a lot of trouble coming from aftermarket stuff in cars. Also seen them burned out because of it... that’s the reason why many people chose to do original retrofits....

And to be sure you understand it. You change a coding string in the radio business? And after that you think that the aftermarket radio will pick up that coding value from what? Since the coding data is stored in the radio businesses and you removed that because you use the aftermarket radio. Those aftermarket (high quality you say) are used to pick up all available can bus messages including PDC and so on. So when PDC transmittes information your aftermarket radio will pick them up and use them. And as if you say your aftermarket radio is high quality it would at least have a menu where you can adjust PDC GONG volume, and shut it down so you only hear the rear external PDC speaker.
