Edc16 key switch delete help
Hello All, I'm working on swapping a 2006 pd100 engine into a Toyota truck and I have ran into a small problem. The engine came out of a 2006 jetta that has can-bus and the key switch signals all come from the can-bus. Because I am not using the original vw key switch system I have no way to tell me ecu that the key switch is turned on and subsequently run the engine.
My idea and hope is that somebody Here can help me program the ecu to be always on, as in as soon as the ecu has power it will be powered on and not have to wait for a can-bus keyswitch signal to tell it to turn on and off. Am I on the right path with my reasoning? Is this something anybody can help me with? Maybe there is an easier way to do this or something i am missing... I am currently not at a computer but as soon as I am I will upload my current ecu dump. It already has immortal disabled thanks to the help of the board here. Thanks for the help. |

RE: Edc16 key switch delete help
Maybe i can rephrase this so it makes more sense:
How do i turn on my edc16 engine ecu without a can-bus signal from the keyswitch? |

RE: Edc16 key switch delete help
I have learned more information about what i am trying to do.
First the immobilizer has to be bypassed, which I have already done Then, any DTC that results from "some parts of car not present" faults are written out of the diagnostic tables. Then set the proper soft coding in the eeprom. Is this something anyone here can help me with? |
