E60 GKE191 ZB needed for 535d?
Hi, a mates swapped a faulty ZF controller in his 2006 535d, the only issue is it seems to have been a GKE194 before so I can't flash back the same number.
It has an issue where it won't go into sport mode for 30 minutes, personally I think the TCU is screwed (or shouldn't be on this valve body?) but I said I'd check if I could flash another file. Attached is the screenshot of the files I can flash but I'm not sure how to find out what is suitable for the 535d? Can anyone help finding the right file or tell me where I need to look to confirm it's right? Thanks. |

Hello.
GKE 191 is not designed to work 3.5D 2006. |

RE: E60 GKE191 ZB needed for 535d?
I can be wrong, (I don’t remember well, it was a long time ago) GKE 191 is 6HP19, and GKE 194 is 6HP26.
These are completely different boxes and completely different torque converters, designed for different torques. Especially for diesel engines. They must have different (HW) and rewriting to the desired one will not work. If my post helped you hit the thanks and reputation button. Thank you. |

I wasn't sure if they used the same TCU's with various software on that you could flash in expert mode but google wasn't helpful.

He's ordered another, let's see if he manages to get the right one this time.
