BMW E90 LCI CIC NAVIGATION DEAD
Hello, I have a bmw e90 LCI with big Screen CIC, I started it like 2 days in the morning and the navi screen didn't turn on and I didn't have any sound, after about 30 min it started by itself and everything was normal about 20 min after that it went off and didn't come back on at all for 2 days, I have no sound or video on the screen, no sensors, radio, CD, nothing, I checked the fuses and they seem fine, I looked at the plugs/wires, everything is ok on test shows the errors in the pictures, I also tried without power to the module in the trunk...nothing...does anyone know where to check? THX

When you look at vehicle tree modules what color is your CIC? Btw there is also a fuse behind the CIC.

RE: BMW E90 LCI CIC NAVIGATION DEAD
Find a replacement headunit.
Repair is a hit and miss, since these PCBs go bad from chip sagging. They mounted the logic board vertically, and the chips sag,and pull the pads. Reballing doesnt help either,it works for 1 or 2 months and goes off again. |

RE: BMW E90 LCI CIC NAVIGATION DEAD
I fixed a lot of CIC's.
This units require a lot of work to fix them properly. I suggest to contact to an experienced technician or find a replacement. |

RE: BMW E90 LCI CIC NAVIGATION DEAD
You may have already tried this, but have you tried resetting the CIC by pushing the volume knob in and holding for 30 to 40 seconds?
Your CIC could be dead and it may not work, but it can't harm trying. Your screenshot shows MOST bus errors, if one MB module is playing up it will stop all others working. I would be disconnecting each MOST device in turn and replace it with a MOST loop through adapter. That will help you find the culprit if that is what the problem is. Also, assuming you have the Logic 7 amp in the boot/Trunk, I would be starting with there. Water ingress is known to kill these amps and that in turn will, as I have said, stop all MOST bus devices. I hope this helps you find your problem. Btw there is also a fuse behind the CIC. Re-balling was a big thing on CCC units. Not to say it doesn't happen on CIC, but I have never seen a single case in over six years of repairs. The CIC is a fairly robust unit, even the early versions, BMW learned from the mistakes made with the CCC. |
