Hi guys,

I've an issue with a CIC unit i'm trying to retrofit.
Donor car build date is 2011/05, car is 2012/05.
I tried with intel's patch, no change in screen, no reboot. I checked fsc's, still original from donor (and rejected, of course).
Tried activation by script on USB, still no change.

Finally connect by cable and copy files to cic, etc. First 2 times after reboot it worked, after that NAVIGATION is grey again. I repeated procedure sometimes, no result. Also, cannot change language, and any custom fdl does not stick.

I first thought of bad HDD, but i can copy music files to cic hard drive, so i think that is not the problem.

I'm doing this remotely, so no chance for now to update CIC(maybe it's not on latest version?).

Any ideas of what maybe the cause?

maybe you didn't read that in order for Intel's patch to work , CIC should be a very recent software version, same goes to most of the new patch's .

so , software update is a must .

But. If your car is newer than donor car. You can get a repair kit from someone here and upload your original fsc in stead. No need to script or custom fsc.

I'm aware that it must be latest sw version. As i said, I don't know which i-level the unit has (btw, anyone knows which i-level has the latest update for cic?).
Still, it should work with script. And it doesn't .

Car had business nav from factory, so no repair kit for it. happy

I have one of the first Script activation made for CIC which can only activate Navi and voice command ( NO BMW Apps ) .. it required some SSH access to CIC and takes 30 minutes to complete the job .

we could try that but I need team viewer and access to the CIC .

I know how to place and do the script, i've done a few CIC's that way. Both E series and F series. But it does not work on this one.
AFter 2 or 3 reboots it stops working. I've no idea why.
