RE: NBT EVO retrofit in Eseries - Solved
Hello everyone.
I have ran into somewhat of a road block. I did an NBT EVO retrofit on my 2006 E90 330i which had a professional CCC unit installed, logic HIFI amp. The head unit is a F30, info: BMW 6512 Part no: CI 6 809 243 01 TYPE : EVO HU Model no: HB B140 EC: 110 100991 10 HW:2.3 SNR:2844397 Version : ECE Data 32/15 The MOST loop has been terminated with a loop terminator, and with the factory amp, there was an echo that was horrible in calls. I decided to upgrade the amp to an F01 amp (65129248552). However, since the upgrade, I don't have any sound, nor any door chime when it's opened. The fiber optic connection is good (I don't have the "no warning tones" message). Amplifier has power and turns on (I can see a red light coming from the MOST port on the amp when I power it on solo). I also checked the voltage of PIN 1 - when jumpered with pin 2 it has 12v. Here is what I think the problem is - the amplifier has old software and is unable to communicate with the head unit. The head unit, I have been informed (from bimmer retrofit) is coded appropriately, they printed this screenshot of my backedup FDL I have ESYS 3.27.1 and E-Sys launcher premium, as well as the PSDZdata files v61.5. What I don't know how to do is use this to upgrade the amp ECU. If someone has more insight into what the issue could be and how to go about solving it, i'm all ears. On a side note, I did something super cool to solve the over heating problem - the F01 amps come with a fan, for cooling. I installed a 45 mm fan directly onto the amplifier vent - using anti-vibration mounts. Wired it to a relay switch, using the center console power wire as a primary switch wire (it powers on when you start the car). In this way, the fan is only operational when the car is running, and thus cooling the amplifier! Relay switch I didn't take a picture of it, but everything was connected directly to the battery hub - using OEM connections for a slick factory look.
