In the e92 same as you not appear popup.
But in You case istap ask update CIC Or you clic in update.
In my case istap not ask update. I clic in.

I have Factory CIC.
The only thing is, that ista want's to remove combox, ecall & 9c FSC in the measure plan, because it's retrofit.

9C FSC importation is possible skip in original version not is need expert mode.
In your case is "easy" just sell combox telematik, and bought combox media.
With this combox is as factory

My Car has TCU & Mulf 2 from factory, so Ista searches everytime for this modules, and want to reject the retrofit combox telematics.
if I replace to combox media, Ista will tell me that FZD Modul, where SOS signal is sitting, must be replaced.
No matter, we must wait for the "Exclusion of Infotainment Control Units" feature, to get rid of this issue.

everything working fine just that error everytime connecting ista/p
dont know how to solve this annoying issue in ista/p

But if you change Date on VO? any other modules ask to remplace? i fix same problem in car of friend.

just i try in X4 with NBT and same as E92 not show popup

Already changed VO, but ista knows that E92 cars before 03/2010 must have a TCU or Mulf instead of combox.
When Changing VO Date to 03/2010 or above ista gives fatal error, because Engine is N54 and ista says it must be N55.

Car doesn't know which year is it REAL if you change VO DATE for fake one and save properly
