You can save your FSC's, search for how to delete, and you will find out what to save, I don't remember exactly right now, but there are 4 files they needs to be saved. /mnt/hbuser - data 0-3 and /mnt/Hbpersistence/normal - swt controler ...
For VIN, you will have to code CIC with your VIN, or flash it with your vin, or try Esys/Fsc extended/ write identifier VIN, if your car is F series.

I have two (maybe quite stuid) questions:

1. Is there any way to backup all FSCs, Certificates etc. that are now stored on my CIC before trying this tool?
2. My CIC is a retrofitted one. Do i have to code my cars VIN into the CIC? How? Or is it enought to use the patch and to write my VIN in all FSCs? I've read all pages of this thread and all pages of the FSTool thread. So maybe I've forgotten it again. There's so much information...

I would appreciate it, if anyone could help.

1st You have to be sure that your CIC have the latest version (C1A)
2nd no need to save your old FSC because once you aplied the patcher those FSC will no longer work (even i've reflashed the CIC the patcher still in system!
3rd write your VIN to CIC with tool32


1. You have to set all 3 vin in the CIC (use these 3 program - cicr_gw.prg, cicr.prg and cicr_hd.prg)
2. Open tool32 select program cicr.prg.
3. Use Job aif_lesen and save all parameter to be used in aif_schreiben
4. use job aif_schreiben and include all 9 parameter starting with new vin (either 7 digit or 17 digit vin) that you want to change in the argument. Example as below.
Example (case sensitive) here I use vin B123456: B123456;14.06.2013;9284327;9284327;0000000;0111111 ;12345;90600;0202jq0f800A
5. Execute it once.
6. Check your vin using aif_lesen. In this eample the AIF_FG_NR = B123456 and AIF_FG_NR_LANG = B123456
7. Repeat these step for cicr_gw.prg and cicr_hd.prg.
8. Now check your vin using INPA. Take note that VIN information for CIC (Address on the left side A0, 63 and 62) have change to your new VIN.

Here is the guide for F series, using ESYS. I have tried on E series with FSTool, cant get it to work. So havent written anything for that.

In the guide it says:

Click on “Settings” on the top menu of E-SYS. Go the the FSC tab and click on certificate path. Here you navigate to the folder “02_Certs”. Choose the file called “Fscs.der”.

Do you have to do this for every fsc when you load it?

Does anyone have an idea, why I can not sign certificates? I wrote about this previously.

I have problem with Validate signature in FSC Editor in Esys. I have FSC ERROR, Failed to verify the FSC signature. (C163) IOException: Ungultiges Format der Public-Key Datei.

I'm loading keys "fscs.der" in the right places and I still have this error.

Make sure you are using the correct PRIVATE key to sign the FSCs and you cannot validate because the public key in the correct format has not been released for ESYS.
