BMW CHIP-TUNING vs New bootloader version
Hello.
Till now i discovered 2 issus with maping VIA OBD2 (CMD,Autotuner). I know this is the fault of the new bootloader. M2 3.0T F87 272KW Bosch MEVD17.2.G - Fail BTLD: 00005BA6_11_19_2 i-Level 19.03.522 CMD flash tool G30 20d 190HP Bosch MD1CS001 - Fail BTLD: 000040C4_006_022_000 i-Level 19.07.530 Autotuner flash tool I am very confused because I have recently made several F series cars with the newest i-Level 19.07.530 without problems. I'm not sure but I think I also did the G series i-Level 19.03.xxx without problems. So the most important questions are: 1. How to recognize a new type of bootloader that has a problem with writing mod file ? 2. Can I get bootloader number for each ECU for all Fxx and Gxx series ? 3. it will be used in future for all ECUs or only the G series and M sport cars in F series ? Anyone have any knowledge of the subject? |

RE: BMW CHIP-TUNING vs New bootloader version
You can still fix the bootloader with esys by reflashing the same data, if dme is bricked.
BMW has been blocking the usual security holes in the bootloader that all these obd flashers were taking advantage of. 2 weeks ago I recovered a mevd17 that had 03/2019 flash updates which secured the bootloader and MHD couldn't flash it anymore. Flash was attempted and it crashed the dme at time of mod bootloader write. |

You are right. I fixed it via esys.
