VO / FA copy between various CAS / ECU
Hi,

I would like to ask about possibility of copy VO between CAS in BMW E87 120d ? I have new CAS/ECU pair from another car.

How can I copy it the esiest way from old CAS ?

PS.
In Nscecxpert, I have list, should I write it down on paper and in new CAS copy it row by row ? Any file import possibility ?

Thanks for help !

RE: VO / FA copy between various CAS / ECU
The fa/vo is also in nfrm ecu and one another ecu.
I think with fa _ write u should make it. After this coding with a clear/blank .MAN.

Hope this is the right way.

Sry for my Bad english

If you only replace the CAS, you can use NCS Expert to read VO from (N)FRM in the car, and then use the job later fa_write to save that original VO to the NEW CAS.

After that code cas with expert mode. Dont use blank man, thats not the correct way.

Dont worry about it. This is the exact reason why the VO\FA is stored in two modules. If one is busted = ok, just read from the other.

If two are busted = get new from bmw servers..... or fabricate your own. Whichever is easier for you! smile

RE: VO / FA copy between various CAS / ECU
Thank you all for answer !

I have orginal CAS also. But I never see option of write VO in some file, and then replace CAS and write VO.

To sumarize my understanding :
I need to connect to car, read VO from FRM and write it to CAS in one NSCexpert session ? I can't store VO anywhere as backup ?

Sorry for off-topic but this is not true. There are numerous posts on different forums about this, they quote that empty .man can not be used. I still have not seen a single post that tells me why it can't be used. On the other hand I know that using empty .man is not a problem, I do it on regular basis and so does other people too who I know. If NCS does not find some parameter from .man, it will use FA default.
