RE: Audi 8e0920930j d28 def problem
I got a cluster that was tampered with before. Someone just wiped whole eeprom! I managed to find dump on the internet with the same part and software numbers. Also by working on pure hex dump I copied/pasted some security data from my working dash to the broken one and I got rid of "error" message and was able to set proper mileage. Now, I'm stuck with just def message, and can clearly see in VCDS immo info is messed, like VIN contains "+" character, is too short, and immo id is messed to. I'll try to fix it manually, but any help would be much appreciated. Its A4 B6 2002 1.9TDI, cluster 8e0 920 930J with software D28. Bosch of course. Can you point where in dump checksums are? Thanks
Or is it possible to virginise eeprom? Right now I set it into new mode 4, but vcds shows immo status 1, whatever it stands for |

this is the problem. my opinion: put back orig dump and check if have or not DEF. after that read pins from new dash and car ecu, and reteach on ch50 of course teach instrument to ecu, maybe you will need new transponder too. (depend wich chassis number you teached) "instrument-login(dash pin)- channel 50-put ecu's pin-save" if you dont know |

I do not have the original dump. I got the cluster with zeroed eeprom, it was dead. I taught it already on channel 50. The only problem now is def on daily mileage.
