Correct - you dont need emulator at all. you can enable all fsc options and if u do retrofit they can create your own bundle for vin without paying crazy $$$ to BMW

Yes, you give them last 7 digits of ur vin and they send you nicely written pdf with all certs that you insert with esys

Answering my own question about whether any further manipulation is required: Yes it is - you have to run a specially crafted update before the codes will be accepted.

I think they found a way to somehow replace the root certificate such that the HU will accept FSCs generated by them an not from BMW.
