Hi folks,
i am driving an 2009 CR 2.0 TDI Audi A3.

i am a victim of VW's latest "Dieselgate" scandal. Which means VW and the german government will force me in 2016 to "update" my ECU with a new software that will very probably have a negative impact on horsepower and other motormanagement parameters.

I am now investigating what i can do to revert back to my old ECU software after the "forced update" at my dealer.

I have already read a lot about VAS and updating ECUs. I also have downloaded the corresponding .sgo file which is working at the moment in my ECU. Question is, how can i downgrade to that file. Are there any tutorials here for such cases?
Which VAS Interface would you buy?

I sugest you to make a full backup of your ecu and save it on your pc..etc..then you can write it back when ever you need...read/write you can do with fgtech,ktag..etc on a bench..good luck

EDC17 best way is BDM no OBD.

if you have genuine VAS PC are one more chance when will be ready one new FR/SGO file !
a second chance are if you have any tool to read such ecu than you dont need to wait for new calibration file from german headquarter

Sorry i dont understand. At the moment i have a genuine .sgo file of my ECU software. My idea was to buy a non genuine VAS adapter and to flash it back via OBD after the update from "german headquarter". (The idea is to avoid! this update)

Can you give me a hint if this would work or not?

means.

The ECU will have a new firmware after the flash by the dealer and i want to flash my genuine SGO file of my old firmware after that. I wanted to know if that will work.

I am sorry Mr. but you not are working in this "area"...
Are many tricks to downgrade the software for all EDC17 ecu from VAG !
